Phillips Coutinho’s career threatening hangnail injury has not only kept the star from featuring against Everton in a wet, cold January FA cup tie but has also forced him to fly to Barcelona for immediate emergency surgery.
The Brazilian complained of fingernail ache first at 12am on New Year’s day and has declared himself unfit to play for the foreseeable future.
While in Barcelon, Coutinho is expected to aid his recovery with a tour of the Camp Nou, a visit to his close friends Paulinho and Luis Suarez and an afternoon at the Nike store in the centre of the city, to soak up the atmosphere.
Phillipe’s agent and business manager will be flying with him during this trying time.
Devoted Liverpool fans from around the globe have been taking time out to wish the star a quick recovery from his surgery, thought to cost in the region of £130 million, and look forward to welcoming him back at Anfield with full voice when Barcelona next visit in the Champions League
