Paul Pogba looks to be on his way to Real Madrid as he sees himself more a luxury attacking option than someone who rolls up his sleeves and does what the gaffer asks.
A luxury player like Pogba really needs 4 or 5 players to support him so he can perform. So we look at Real’s potential summer transfer list so Pogba can have a good game.
1. Ander Herrera
Soon to be back in Spain anyway for charges relating to match fixing, Herrera knows exactly the demanding performances it takes from a whole team to get the best out of a superstar like Pogba.
The good news is, since Herrera would never get anywhere near the Real first 11 and could be serving a lengthy period in the clinker, Real could extend their bench to his cell, but that’s not helping Pogba
2. N’Golo Kante
Despite already having Casimero, it’s very likely Zidane will need to call on 4 or 5 ball winners to support Pogba. So picture a Real midfield with Kante, Matic, Dembele from Spurs, Fellaini and maybe Roy Keane back from retirement. All so Pogba can have a good game.
3. Lionel Messi
To be the best Paul Pogba needs the best playing in support. Who better than the best player of all time deployed to win balls, set up Pogba’s attacking advances and fill the spaces he leaves wide open in pursuit of personal glory?
Messi is a selfless genius, the perfect player to make sure Pogba really hits the high notes.
4. Pogba’s Ma
Let’s face it, who wouldn’t do better with your ma running around behind you, carrying a tray of orange squash, apple slices and your favourite kind of sandwiches. Someone there to bandage your knee and kiss it better when Paulinho dispossesses you in your own box and scores in the Classico. Someone to deal with bullies like Koke and Busquets. And someone to bring out the rolling pin when Zidane drops you for not pulling your weight.
I hear she’s available for 300 million from PSG.
