Now some of you may disagree with this, but I think it’s about time this club started taking the contributions of its past players and its history a bit more seriously.
We need to look at what players have done to move the team forward as a unit even if they wound up leaving in the end.
to this end I think you’d have to accept that Phillipe Coutinho has been essential in bringing us to the height we’re at now. So how should that be rewarded?
I think with a Champions League medal when we win.
A player like that could have left so much earlier. Barca wanted him like 2 years ago and then so many other teams but hI stayed and fought for the badge.
lets face it Liverpool is never going to be among Europe’s elite clubs like Barca and Man United But we can at least do right by our players.
Coutinhos performances were far, far better than the ones people talk up about Mo Salah all the time. He unlocked defenses for us in a way we haven’t really found how to do without him.
He was always available and eager to play and his attitude was professional and positive.
If he’d have suffered a dip in form whilst at Anfield you can be damn well sure he’d have been sold by Klopp so it’s only natural that a player with his kind of ambition could move on. I say celebrate what he achieved while he was with us.
And more than that. Reward it.
Who agrees with me?
