Fekir so sure of Liverpool transfer he’d already chosen his shirt number at Barcelona.
Lyon and France forward Nabil Fekir’s transfer to the Champions League runners up was so certain to the player that he’d already been shopping for homes in the Catalan capital and choosing his favourite shirt number at the blugrana.
“It had always been my dream to finish 4th in the Premier League, lose a Champions League final and really showcase my talents to Barcelona winding up in a protracted and ridiculously expensive transfer drawn out over two windows and enraging fans.”
Fekir’s move to Liverpool was cancelled this weekend when a knee injury discovered during his routine medical sparked a dramatically lower bid from the merseyside club leading to the Lyon president pulling the plug on the deal.
“I’d already started following Coutinho and Pique on Instagram,” the France man said. “I mean they’re going to run out of patience with Dembele in another few months, Messi is what 33 and Suarez isn’t much younger. This move to Liverpool really would’ve been a dream come true.”
