Jose Mourinho has decided to leave football management behind him as news broke today that he had joined Jorge Mendes’ company as a “super player-agent”. Mourinho’s excellent man management skills will be utlised as he works closely with some of the top players in the world. The ex-United coach excitedly spoke about his new career to journalists earlier:
“I am super-excited to become a super-agent. I’ve known Jorge for a long time so it’s a natural move as I treat players like they’re my own family. However, I’m not afraid to criticise a player whether in a football management role or as an agent. For example, Luke Shaw? Tubby. Pogba? More worried about haircuts than football. Ronaldo? A princess. I will though, secure them the best financial deals as football chairmen know how to pay me off”
Ronaldo will potentially be one of Mourinho’s clients in his new role. The Juventus striker was surprised at the news of Mourinho’s appointment:
“Really? Oh, wow. Well if he can get a certain case to disappear, all will be forgiven from our time in Madrid, where he tried to substitute me once. It’s a long road for our relationship to recover but if Jose can learn some lessons in humility, we should be okay”.
Mourinho’s first job will be a bonding session with 80% of Wolves’ first team squad. The ex-Madrid and Chelsea coach plans a trip to see Black Swan at the Opera.
